AdGrowth Weekly

July 3, 2025

Welcome to the first edition of InterMedia’s newsletter AdGrowth Weekly, your guide on the evolving advertising, media, performance, and growth strategy landscape.

We're big believers in meaningful connections, between people and ideas, brands and audiences, strategy and results. After 50+ years in media planning and buying, we’ve learned a thing or two. This newsletter is our way of sharing what we’ve picked up along the way: emerging trends, thoughtful insights, and practical tips to help you keep up with the ever-changing ad world.

In each issue, you’ll receive:

  • Industry Trends and Insights

  • Partner News and Updates

  • Events Overview and Announcements

  • Strategic Media Opportunities and Planning Ideas

We’ll mix in any other relevant info to make sure you’re informed on all things growth marketing, adtech, and media, with a little of my perspective of course. While not in the industry as long as InterMedia, I’ve been around for a while and have some opinions.

We look forward to providing insights, strategies, and ideas focused on growing your industry knowledge and, more importantly, campaigns.

Have a great 4th of July and see you next week.

INDUSTRY TRENDS & INSIGHTS

As you may have seen, Guideline’s latest U.S. Ad Market Tracker says May ad spend was up 4.4% year over year, a bump from April’s 3.4%.

Not exactly a rocket launch, but in a year where most holding companies are dialing down forecasts, this kind of steady climb says something deeper: resilience and opportunity.

While others pull back, forward-thinking brands are getting focused, realigning budgets, leaning into proven channels, and setting themselves up to accelerate the moment the market shifts.

Because the question isn’t whether growth is coming. It’s who’s prepared to move when it does.

We’re keeping an eye on it. You should too.

Partner Spotlight

NewsNation Becomes Cable’s Fastest-Growing Network

Newsnation is now the fastest growing basic cable network in prime time, according to Nielsen, with viewership up 94% year over year. Powered by shows like Cuomo and Elizabeth Vargas Reports, the Nextstar owned channel is gaining traction as a centrist alternative to traditional cable news. Though still smaller than Fox, CNN, and MSNBC, its rapid rise signals fresh opportunities for advertisers targeting engaged news audiences. For marketers, this growth presents a timely opportunity to reach new, politically diverse customers in a trusted news environment.
